Starting Your Own Business: From Conception to Success

Hi, my name is Teilee, and I have had great business ideas for my entire life. Sadly, as a kid, I could not start the businesses I imagined, so I made that a priority as I got older. Over the years of launching several small businesses, I learned how to take an idea from conception to reality. I learned about funding, advertising, marketing, branding and client relationships. I want to use this blog as a creative and professional outlet for all of the information I have collected over the years. If you are a budding entrepreneur or even someone who has already launched a company, you have come to the right spot. Feel free to explore, and I hope you enjoy my blog!

Why Mining Equipment Requires More Regular Servicing And Repairs

Mining is a huge industry in Australia responsible for tens of thousands of jobs and billions of dollars each year. The backbone of this industry, apart from the workers, is of course the many different pieces of mining equipment you will find at any quarry or mining site. These machines and vehicles do a lot of the tough work that normal vehicles would simply crumple under. The issue is that, over time, mining equipment also will start to give in to these forces. Here are a few reasons why mining equipment repair is more common than for normal equipment and how you can spot the early warning signs.

Fighting The Conditions

Mining equipment, depending on where it is used along the production line, will almost certainly be constantly trudging through harsh dirt, rocks and worn in tremendous heat. When you add the actual mined material whether that be iron ore, coal, metals or even something more toxic, it is a recipe for an early grave for your machines. They can be built as tough as possible and they will still start to show issues within a few years, if not sooner. Luckily, most mining sites plan for this and mining equipment repair is usually just a phone call away.

Tell-Tale Warning Signs

It is always better to be preventative rather than reactive when it comes to your mining equipment. If you can spot a problem before it fully arrives then you can minimise its impact and reduce the mining equipment repair cost. Some of the obvious warning signs you should be on the lookout for include:

  • Rattling or strange movement of the steering wheel or operating gears.
  • Grinding noises when it should be smooth.
  • Bad smells emanating from the engine.
  • Machine working slower than usual for no discernible reason.

If you notice any of these signs then immediately stop operating the machine and call for a second, expert opinion.

Fixing The Problem

The good thing about most mining equipment repair is that it is generally quicker than traditional mechanics. First of all, most of the time they will be well-stocked with the most common parts that they use on replacements and it is rare to have to order in special components. These machines are also often quite large and easy to work underneath, rather than the more cramped quarters of smaller cars. You will also likely go to a mining equipment repair shop that has a pre-existing relationship with your business so they know exactly what you have and what its service history is like. All of this leads to a speedy repair and you back out in the mine as soon as possible.
