Starting Your Own Business: From Conception to Success

Hi, my name is Teilee, and I have had great business ideas for my entire life. Sadly, as a kid, I could not start the businesses I imagined, so I made that a priority as I got older. Over the years of launching several small businesses, I learned how to take an idea from conception to reality. I learned about funding, advertising, marketing, branding and client relationships. I want to use this blog as a creative and professional outlet for all of the information I have collected over the years. If you are a budding entrepreneur or even someone who has already launched a company, you have come to the right spot. Feel free to explore, and I hope you enjoy my blog!

Five Ideas and Accessories for Your Next Pontoon BBQ

Thinking about hosting a BBQ on a pontoon? Then, in addition to lots of meat, side dishes and drinks, you also need the right accessories. Here are several things that can help make a pontoon BBQ a bit more fun and organised:

1. BBQ Designed for Pontoons

So that you can cook easily on the water, the BBQ industry has jumped in with a huge line of grills that are designed for use on pontoons. Ideally, you should opt for a grill that gets bolted to the floor for stability. If you are only hiring the pontoon for the afternoon, invest in a grill that attaches to the railing of the pontoon. The other advantage of this setup is that the grill is over the water so if any embers jump out, they can just fall into the sea.

2. Shade

Whether you are hiring or buying a pontoon, you should always choose one with shade. Ideally, you want a deck that is partially covered and uncovered so that you can choose between shade or not. If your pontoon does not have shade, bring a canopy and anchor it to the railings of the pontoon so that it doesn't blow away.

3. Slide

To keep your guests entertained when they are not eating, consider buying or hiring a slide. Attach it to the side of your pontoon, and let your BBQ guests slide into the water. Remember to use life jackets for safety. Alternatively, consider a diving board for the side of the pontoon.

4. Drink and Fishing Rod Holders

At a good BBQ, you likely need to set down your drink whilst you are diving into a plate of tasty food. So that you and your guests have a stable spot to place your drinks, consider buying some metal drink holders to attach to the railing of your pontoon. Similarly, you can also get fishing rod holders that work in the same way.

5. BBQ Donut Pontoon

If you are hiring a pontoon or buying a special one for this occasion, you should look into the BBQ donut pontoon. This type of pontoon is shaped like a doughnut. Guests sit around the edge of the pontoon, and a BBQ is in the middle of their circle. The pontoon gives you an experience like a raft, and dining and cooking is readily available at your fingertips.
